Lemons have risen in price in Ukraine

The demand and prices for lemons in the Ukrainian market are actively growing, according to analysts of the EastFruit project. Turkey is traditionally the undisputed leader in terms of lemons supplied to Ukraine but has somewhat reduced the supply resulting in another rise in prices in this segment.

Today, lemons on the Ukrainian market are offered for sale at UAH 30-50/kg ($1.06-1.77/kg), which is on average 22% more expensive than at the end of the last week. Industry experts associate the rise in the price of lemons primarily with the increased interests of wholesalers and retail chains. The purchase price for these citrus fruits on the foreign market has also increased contributing to the rise in lemon prices on the Ukrainian market.

It should be noted that lemons in Ukraine are on average 25% more expensive today than at the beginning of December 2019. However, industry experts associate the price difference in comparison with last year due to a significant devaluation of the hryvnia against the dollar and euro.
