Price of greenhouse tomatoes continues to fall in Poland
The price of greenhouse tomatoes in Poland continued to fall last week, despite a reduction in the supply on the market, say analysts of the EastFruit project. Representatives of Polish greenhouse plants reported that the demand in this segment was very small, which has prevented producers from keeping prices at last week’s level.
In most cases, prices had to be reduced in order to boost sales and avoid the accumulation of unsold products in warehouses. So, last week, tomatoes from local greenhouse plants were offered for $0.74-0.78/kg, which is on average 10% cheaper than at the end of the previous working week.
It is worth noting that last week, the price of Polish greenhouse tomatoes was on average 10% cheaper than in the same period last year.
